ABOUT ME
LOVE GOD by SERVING OTHERS
Alma Ruth has been crossing borders because of her faith in Jesus since 1986. She has spoken and served in different nations and continents since the summer of 1990.
Every conversation on stage and off stage has been focused on God's extraordinary love for us.
From sharing with Indigenous Mayan communities on the Yucatan peninsula, to rural underground congregations in Eastern Cuba, her genuine expression of faith transpires to her audiences.
During her summer in Eastern Europe, serving with a team from Mexico and sharing with urban audiences in Prague (Czech Republic), Bratislava, Michalovce (Slovakia) and Vienna (Austria), she was able to communicate God’s love through different expressions of her culture and her faith.
As she was speaking to Spanish classes in rural parts of the island of Jamaica, her connection with the children was palpable.
As the Mexican Fiestas were being organized by her Mexican team in North India (Uttar Pradesh), she was able to share her faith with the diverse Hindu and Muslim communities.
One of the highlights of her life was the extraordinary opportunity to share about Jesus at multiple student and public gatherings throughout Cuba, including Havana University and Santiago de Cuba. It was a privilege to serve the local pastoral leadership throughout the island as well.
It was a privilege to share her faith with communities in the Toronto area and congregations in Tijuana and Cancun. She was able to share about her work in the restricted nation where she served for almost five years.
Spending two summers in rural Honduras (near Tela), helped her understand the complexities of the immigration and transnational narratives of the Northern triangle of Central America.
Alma Ruth has been a witness of the intricate reality that Christians in Bethlehem face, through her ministry of presence in the town where Jesus was born. Also, she experienced the beauty of Christendom as she served shortly in Istanbul and Adana, Turkey.
After facing severe infertility, God surprise Alma Ruth with 2 sons: Asaf Salam, 19, who has his heart set in conservation and Sami Abram, 16, who is interested in medical science

Alma Ruth and I became friends on a border mission trip. From the moment I met her, I was touched by the Spirit of Christ that radiates from her, giving her hope, love, and courage to speak out for the most vulnerable and to believe wholeheartedly in God’s faithfulness.
She is a captivating speaker who, through her heartfelt stories, invites her audience to reflect on Christ’s call in their own lives. God continues to call Alma Ruth to serve, and she faithfully follows. She is an inspiration!
Jennifer Davis

“Alma Ruth is an inspiring missionary, powerful preacher and humble servant of Jesus Christ.
Her sermon at my congregation in McAllen was deeply moving, inspirational, and challenging.
She provides a blend of theological depth and pragmatic, grassroots-based testimony that can and will inspire Jesus followers to more faithfully serve with and alongside the foreigners and marginalized in our midst”
Rev. Joe Tognetti

“I have known and worked with Alma since 2019 with dozens of trips to the US Mexican border with teams across the United States. Her expertise on immigration and its centrality to the message of Jesus are unprecedented. She is able to integrate personal experiences and stories into the larger narratives of immigration that move it beyond a political issue to a deeply personal and spiritual one.”
Dr. Will McCorkle

“Alma is an angel on Earth. Working with her inspired me to completely change the trajectory of my doctoral research and postdoctoral plans. She is the rarest of jewels in that she actually practices what she preaches: love one another- no exceptions. Hearing her speak and bearing witness to her compassion for people is a gift”
Brittany Beeker

“Alma is fierce, yet gentle. She speaks with conviction and authority, yet in a way that invites people in, rather than turning them away. She lives out what she believes and would be an asset to any ministry looking to bring her in to speak or serve alongside. We love Alma!”
Stephanie Bernotas
